Alaïa Paris Eau de parfum is the first fragrance from Azzedine Alaïa, one of the world's most respected fashion designers. The tunisian-born designer settled in Paris in 1957, worked for Christian Dior, Guy Laroche and Thierry Mugler before opening his very own atelier in the late 1970s, in Rue de Bellechasse. Alaïa is a true artist, a real architect and sculptor extraordinarily skilled at cutting, his iconic silhouettes made him popular for decades, especially through his very feminine bandage dresses: he invented the body-con dress. Finally, Alaïa has a signature perfume, something very special and different, just like the designer's creations, who never bowed to commercial preassures of fashion system, a genius often remaining distant from the others. Even in this fragrance there is something very personal for Azzedine Alaïa, because it was inspired by his childhood in Tunisia, precisely from fresh water poured onto brick walls. The developer of this fragrance, Marie Salamagne, create for Azzedine a spicy, leathery fragrance with a strong personality, choosing the contrast between initial cool tones - like pink pepper - floral middle tones with freesia and peony to get to the bottom of hot, leathery oriental tones - musky and animal notes. The result is a very original scent, timeless, elegant and extremely luxury.

Alaïa è un vero artista, un vero architetto e scultore eccezionalmente dotato nel taglio, ha creato una silhouette iconica che lo ha reso celebre per decenni, specialmente attraverso abiti fascianti e molto femminili: ha inventato i body-con dress. Alaïa Paris is such a classy, statement fragrance with a balance of fresh and warm notes that, in the true spirit of Maison Alaïa, make a woman feel good about herself, more beautiful and sensual. If you prefer fresh, spicey perfumes to the ultra sweet fragrances that seem to be the majority out there, you won't be disappointed. I have the feeling the waiting was this long because the fragrance had to be special, and the designer wish was surely fulfilled. I am loving Alaïa Paris on my skin and it has a long lasting power without being too invasive; I have the 30 ml flacon but there is also a 50 ml and 100 ml version; this perfume is precious like silk and pearls on my skin. The bottle has something oriental, with black translucent glass decorated in a way that the design echoes perforated leather of Alaïa laser-cut iconic leather corsets from the 1980s. The golden bottle cap looks like a clew of pure gold, so precious, looking so luxury over the heavy black bottle. Definitely something beautiful to display on your vanity table and a halo of class and unconventional sensuality to wear on.

Alaïa Parisè un profumo così di classe e originale con un equilibrio di note fresche e calde che, nel vero spirito della Maison Alaïa, mirano a far sentire bene una donna con se stessa, più bella e sensuale. Se preferite profumi freschi e speziati a quelli ultra dolci che sembrano essere la maggioranza ormai, non verrete deluse. Io ho la sensazione che questa attesa sia stata così lunga perché il profumo doveva essere speciale e diverso, e il desiderio del designer è stato sicuramente ottenuto. Lo sto amando sulla mia pelle ed è anche molto durevole senza essere invadente; io ho il flacone da 30 ml ma esiste anche in formato da 50 ml e 100 ml; questo profumo è prezioso come seta e perle sulla pelle. Il flacone ha un qualcosa di orientale, in pesante vetro nero translucido decorato come se fosse pelle perforata, ovvero il motivo tagliato a laser degli iconici corsetti in pelle degli anni 1980. Il tappo sembra una matassa di oro puro, prezioso e lussuoso in contrasto con il nero della pesante boccetta. Decisamente un profumo bello da mostrare sul vostro vanity table e un alone di classe e sensualità non convenzionale da portare addosso.
