I must confess I have always wanted a flapper dress, to feel a bit like those 20s girls, with their dropped waistline above the kneee beaded dresses that moved as they walked, so when I found this black and red River Island dress on Asos, I decided I would buy it straight away. This is not a dress you can wear everyday or just go buy groceries, but I had a wedding to attend to and I decided it would be my chance to make my 20s dream come true !.
Devo confessare che ho sempre voluto un "flapper dress", per sentirmi un po' come quelle ragazze degli anni '20, con i loro abiti scivolati e al ginocchio, ricchi di ricami e perline che ondeggiavano ad ogni minimo movimento, così quando ho trovato questo abito nero e rosso River Island su Asos ho deciso di comprarlo quasi subito.
Non si tratta di un abito adatto ad ogni occasione, di certo non è il tipico look per uscire a fare la spesa, ma dato che ero invitata ad un matrimonio, ho deciso di rendere realtà proprio in quella occasione il mio sogno anni '20 !.

The beaded fringed work on this dress is amazing, it's so accurate and it was definately worth my purchase. I was a bit afraid about the fitting of the dress, since I knew River Island sizes are slightly smaller compared to other UK brands sizes, but everything went ok and the dress fits like a glove. In the pic above you can see the beads work even on the back of the dress, but this piece gives the best when you wear it and the fringes get to move according to your every move, and it's immediately Cotton Club, baby !.
I ricami in perline e le frange su questo abito sono davvero ben fatti, molto accurati, e sicuramente mi sento di dire che le mie aspettative su questo acquisto sono state positive. Avevo un po' paura per la taglia, dato che solitamente River Island veste meno di altri brand inglesi che ho provato, ma fortunatamente l'abito calza come un guanto. Nella foto sopra potete vedere come vi siano dei ricami anche sulla parte posteriore dell'abito, ma questo capo mostra il meglio in movimento, perché le frange si muovono assecondando ogni singolo movimento del corpo, ed è subito Cotton Club, baby !.

Weddings in winter always drive me crazy because I know I will suffer the cold...it's much easier when people get married in Spring or in Summer ! Luckily, with this dress I was able to match a wool cardigan for the coldest moments, and opaque tights.
I went for simple black ankle boots as shoes, these ones are from Roberto Botticelli and it was my first time wearing them. See them better in the pic below and let me add walking on some kind of irregular pavement (called Sanpietrini) in heels should be made olympic sport. I still wonder why most of wedding venues have this terrible pavement outside, when they know most of the guests will be in high heels !.
I matrimoni in inverno per me rappresentano un momento di crisi perché ho paura di soffrire per il freddo...è molto più facile in Primavera o in Estate ! Fortunatamente, sono riuscita ad abbinare a questo abito un cardigan in lana leggera e calze coprenti.
Ho scelto semplici stivaletti in pelle nera di Roberto Botticelli ai piedi, era la loro prima uscita e si sono comportati bene. Potete vederli bene nella foto sotto, e lasciatemi aggiungere che camminare sulla pavimentazione tipo Sanpietrini con i tacchi dovrebbe essere considerato sport olimpico. Mi chiedo ancora come mai la maggior parte delle ville dove si tengono ricevimenti di nozze abbiano una pavimentazione terribile, piena di fughe e irregolarità quando si sa che la maggior parte delle invitate porterà tacchi considerevoli !.

I had a wonderful 20s inspired cloche hat but I had no pictures taken with it since I left it in the car and we had to leave the car really far from the place. I was wearing my Balenciaga black coat as outerwear, you can see it in the pics below because I had to wear it after a few pics since I was freezing. I am so glad I got married in July, when the weather was warm, one of the best decisions of my life, as well as marrying my wonderful hubby of course, LOL.
Come borsa ho optato per questa di Zara, che fa sia da clutch che da borsa a tracolla, molto comoda. Ho aggiunto al look diverse collane in jais prese da Accessorize.
Avevo un bellissimo cappello a cloche molto anni '20, ma l'ho lasciato in macchina e abbiamo dovuto parcheggiare parecchio lontano, per cui non lo vedrete per questa volta.
Come cappotto ho scelto quello nero Balenciaga, nel quale mi sono rifugiata dopo qualche scatto dato che si gelava ! Non che ce ne fosse bisogno, ma ho riconfermato la mia scelta di sposarmi a luglio come una delle migliori scelte della mia vita, oltre ovviamente al fantastico marito ;).

Next time I will tie up my hair in a low bun as this style would suggest, I admit I didn't do it this time cause I was wearing the hat and a hat with totally tied up hair looks awkward.
Red lipstick and red nail polish completed this party outfit that could no doubt be worn during winter holidays. Speaking about holidays, have you bought all your presents ? I have not, this weekend is gonna be hectic, I did it again also this year and have a lot of last minute shopping to do ! Anyway, I already bought a lot of present...for myself ! ;)
La prossima volta legherò i capelli in uno chignon basso come suggerirebbe lo stile dell'abito, questa volta non l'ho fatto perché portavo il cappello.
Rossetto e smalto rosso hanno completato questo outfit da party che potrebbe tranquillamente essere adatto proprio alle festività natalizie.
Parlando di feste, avete già comprato tutti i regali ? Io no, questo weekend sarà una vera corsa contro il tempo, come ogni anno mi sono ridotta all'ultimo minuto per tante cose, ma in compenso ho comprato già tanti regali per me, ahahah ;).
